1. What is the major theme of this novel? Why is this theme important to a teenager living in 2009?

The major theme of this novel (fahrenheit 451) is that books are as important as anything in the world. Over the time as the future comes and goes many people will think that books are no longer needed in the world but that is completely wrong. Books and written documents have started from so long ago and it still is popular and important for us humans now. If we didn't have written documents then we wouldn't know about history and so on. So the theme is that you shouldn't forget something just because it is old. All old things still have its importance in one way or another. The importance this theme has to teenagers of 2009 is that technology is getting more advanced with every month coming, but no matter how much technology there is we shouldn't forget that we study from textbooks and read the the Bible and things like that.

I agree. Books are indispensable, and should always be cherished. Even if technology advances so far that books become digital, I still think that there should still be at least a shred of literature still in paper to read from. Books are essential, and history more so.
